EU to Accept New Zealand’s COVID-19 Vaccination Certificates
The European Union will now accept New Zealand COVID-19 vaccination certificates, making it easier for fully vaccinated Kiwis to travel to Europe.
The Ministry of Health has partnered with MATTR to create the vaccine certificates, which will include the person’s name, date of birth, scannable QR code, and certificate expiry date.
How to Get ‘My Vaccine Pass’
The government has launched its vaccine pass or certificates, which allows New Zealanders to download proof that they are fully vaccinated.
The “My Vaccine Pass” will take the form of a QR code that can be shown digitally or on printed paper, allowing venues to check whether a person has been vaccinated or not.
Once you are fully vaccinated, you can access My Covid Record, and make a My Health Account via this website. You will need an email address, password, and proof of identity to create an account.
For those without a smartphone or access to a computer, you may call 0800 222 478 to request a My Vaccine Pass.
New Zealand’s BEIA Launches Future of Business Events Virtual Summit
Business Events Industry Aotearoa (BEIA) in New Zealand is inviting registrations for its Future of Business Events Virtual Summit on 9 December 2021.
With the theme ‘Rally, Rebuild and Restart’, the summit will kickstart important conversations and is intended to support the community with preparation for what is to come in 2022.
The virtual summit is free for BEIA Members. Registration is also available to non-members at a nominal fee of $30.
The event is supported by Celebrity Speakers NZ, Tourism New Zealand Business Events, Auckland Conventions Venues and Events, and event and media company Uno Loco, fresh from their APEC-producing duties. You can learn more about the summit here.
Cybersecurity Attacks on Small Businesses Double
In the past three years, cybersecurity attacks on New Zealand small businesses have doubled.
The 2021 HP New Zealand IT Security Survey found cybersecurity attacks on small businesses doubled compared to 2018, with 54% of respondents seeing evidence of security breaches in their workplace in the past year.
This is despite mid-market businesses nearly tripling their investment in IT security over the past three years. With businesses facing an average cost of $159,000 per attack, 37% of respondents reported increasing their investment in cybersecurity amid the pandemic.
